How to get to Bratislava?

There are four ways of transport (plane, bus, train, car) from almost everywhere in Europe to Bratislava.

  • This is the official airport page where you can check out flights from your location and here are the flight connections from Bratislava.

  • The fastest way from (depending on your location) is to fly to Vienna and then, from Vienna Airport to Bratislava you can take a bus. It goes by every hour and the most convenient bus stop is called Most SNP (Bridge of SNP), then it is one square (Hviezdoslavovo namestie) 8 minutes walking distance to the Radisson Blu Carlton Hotel.

  • There is also Flixbus that goes from almost everywhere in Europe.


    When it comes to train from different european cities, you can take Swiss trains or, for instance, if you are coming from the closeby cities like Prague, you can take Czech railways that goes through Brno to Bratislava and Intercity Class coming from Budapest.

    If you rent a car you will have to go through the highway, a toll is needed, you can buy a 10 days electronic vignette here.

    Now, if you want to enjoy a more touristic trip to get to Bratislava, there’s also the boat choice that will take you through the Danube river from Vienna to Bratislava and back.


    If you are coming from and to Berlin for Berlin Buzzwords, you have 3 options:

    1. Take Austrian Airlines that goes Berlin-Vienna and back and then the default route from Vienna by bus.

    2. By train, it is possible to go from Berlin to Vienna by Deutsche Bahn and from Vienna to Bratislava from Wien Hbf to Bratislava Hlavna stanica (main station). There is also a night train offered by OBB that will take you to your destination overnight.

    3. Flixbus if you want to go by bus, either a direct route or one that goes through Prague with one stop in Florenc terminal.


    For your transportation in the city, there is Uber and another most popular is Hopin, both have mobile apps and they can pick you up from the train station. They are very affordable so you don’t need to use public transport.
